Comparison

Online fax comparison: which service fits you?

Whether it is one fax to cancel a contract or an ongoing setup with its own fax number, the services differ mainly in four things: do you need an account, is there a free offer, how is it billed, and can you receive faxes too?

Note: we run pdftofax.com and appear in this table ourselves. This is not an independent publication. Every claim about another service comes from that service’s own pages, with the check date in its row.

Which service for whom?

One fax, no account

If you only need to send one document and do not want to register anywhere, a service without an account is the shortest route. pdftofax.com needs no registration or subscription; you see the price before paying and pay only on delivery.

Sending regularly and receiving too

If you need your own fax number or must receive faxes, a service with plans suits you better, such as PDF24 Fax (SMALL, LARGE) or Fax.Plus (from Basic). pdftofax.com can only send.

Occasional, signing up is fine

If an account does not bother you and you send small amounts, PDF24 Fax (5 pages a month) and Fax.Plus (10 pages in total) offer free allowances — with the limits shown above.

What to look at for data protection

Faxes often carry sensitive data. Whichever provider you choose, check these points:

At pdftofax.com: processing under the GDPR, transaction records on EU infrastructure; where a provider transfers data outside the EU, standard contractual clauses cover it. Details are in the Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy

Sources and check date

Other services’ prices and offers change. The provider’s own page is always authoritative; our statements refer to the check date shown. The PDF24 figures come from the plan overview and FAQ on fax.pdf24.org/de.
